Remains
Holotype (BP/1/5387): Nearly complete skull and lower jaw.
Age and Distribution
Horizon: Lowermost Tapinocephalus assemblage zone, beaufort Group, Middle Permian (Capitanian).

Type locality: Middlevlei farm, Laingsburg, Western Cape Province, South Africa.
